4-bedroom family home utilising the footprint of an existing agricultural barn.
Open plan living/kitchen/dining area in the original barn footprint.
Connection to new external courtyard and surrounding garden area.
Extensions link with the barn block to give access to the sleeping/bathroom block.
External cladding materials complement the local vernacular.
Natural light and countryside views are maximised with this design.

Brief:

Our client wanted to create a 4-bedroom family home utilising the footprint of an existing agricultural barn and adding single storey extensions. Lannin Design worked with our client to create a design that provides an open plan living/kitchen/dining area in the original barn footprint which connects with the new external courtyard/outdoor cooking area and surrounding garden area.

The new extensions link easily with the barn block to give access to the sleeping/bathroom block. The simple forms with apex and mono-pitch roofs site well with the surrounding agricultural buildings while the choice of external cladding materials tie in with the local vernacular style. The design maximises the natural daylight and amazing countryside views.
